The founders of the BDU Diplomats Union came together to establish a new “civil society organisation”: “SDID – Civil Diplomacy and Business World Association”. The new organisation, for which preparatory work began in November 2025, was officially established on 29 January following the completion of the founders’ signatures on the “constitution”.
The need for the establishment of the SDID – Civil Diplomacy and Business World Association stems from the reality that, in a globalising world, inter-state relations are no longer confined solely to official diplomacy. Today, the business world, academia and civil society actors have become important complementary elements of international relations.
SDID was established with the aim of strengthening economic cooperation, developing international trade, enhancing intercultural dialogue, and contributing to Turkey’s more effective representation on a global scale.
