BDU, which has always supported rights-based advocacy activities, also played an active role in the establishment of the Confederation of Consumers. On 3 September, at the First Ordinary General Assembly held in Ankara, BDU President Musa Karademir was elected Vice President and BDU Founding Board Member Mehmet Nuri Kaynar was elected Board Member.
The Confederation of Consumers, which was established by 4 Federations with 35 thousand members, has become one of the most powerful and influential non-governmental organisations in Turkiye.
