Organised by the Istanbul University (IU) International Institute on Genocide and Crimes against Humanity, the “Where is Humanity Going in the Shadow of Wars Conference” was held on Wednesday, 8 November 2023 at the Blue Hall of the Rectorate Building of IU.
The opening speeches of the panel were delivered by Prof. Dr. Osman Bulent Zulfikar, Rector of IU, and Prof. Dr. Yasar Onay, Director of IU International Institute on Genocide and Crimes against Humanity. After the opening speeches, the conference started.
The conference was moderated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Derya Aydin Okur, Deputy Director of IU International Institute on Genocide and Crimes against Humanity. Yeni Yuzyil University Rector Prof. Dr. Yasar Hacisalihoglu, Kent University Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Hasret Comak and Marmara University Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Suna Gulfer Ihlamur Oner delivered their speeches.
BDU President Musa Karademir shared his thoughts on “migrations caused by war and international terrorism” with the conference participants.
