“No to Violence against Women and Children Exhibition” by BDU on 25 November United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women

The “No to Violence against Women and Children” project exhibition, hosted by Sarıyer Municipality and jointly organized by BDU International Union of Businessmen and Diplomats and Ispartakule Rotary Club, met with art lovers on Friday, November 25, 2022 at 14.00 at Sarıyer Municipality Maslak Service Building.

Curated by Painter Ulku Cilizoglu and organized by Mert Kocatepe, the opening cocktail of the exhibition was attended by Sarıyer Mayor ŞSukru Genc, Deputy Mayor Huseyin Coşkun and Culture Director Filiz Coskun and a group of nearly 200 guests consisting of academicians, writers, painters, artists, diplomats and non-governmental organizations. The cocktail was served by “Kozantik Organizasyon”.

“No to Violence against Women and Children!” In the exhibition “No to Violence against Women and Children!”, 25 painters came together and transferred their feelings to the canvas with the “silent cries” of child brides, women who were subjected to violence, women who were killed by the family council under the name of honor, those who were sexually abused, those who were burned, those who were sold for headdress money, our women and children whose rights were usurped.

At the opening cocktail of the exhibition, Mayor Sukru Genc and Curator Ulku Cilizoglu made speeches in accordance with the meaning and importance of the day. Later, BDU President Musa Karademir presented a “BDU Plaque of Appreciation” to Sukru Genc and Curator Ulku Cilizoglu. Ispartakule Rotary Club presented a Certificate in memory of the day.

During the exhibition opening cocktail; Ulku Cilizoglu, Arzu Yetis Kocatepe and Tamer Ulusel were awarded the “High Art Council Membership” Certificate established within BDU to carry out their culture and art projects. In addition, BDU Board Members, Nalan Ozkan, Murat Erkurekci, Mehmet Nuri Kaynar, Asli Gultekin, Murat Tunay, Buket Ilicali, Yilmaz Parlar presented a “Certificate of Appreciation” to the painters who contributed to the exhibition with their paintings.
