Project Management Training at Ağrı Doğubayazıt within the Scope of Social Responsibility from BDU

With the IPA III Financial Cooperation Framework Agreement signed between Türkiye and the European Union (EU), Türkiye will start to receive grant support from the EU for projects in the 2021-2027 Period. In this context, Dogubayazit Municipality, ISIYAD and BDU Diplomats Union organized a seminar on “European Union Grants and Project Cycle Management” within the framework of IPA III. The three-day training seminar between 4-5-6 May was held at the Agri Dogubayazit Municipality Conference Hall. After the seminar, the participants were given a “Certificate of Participation”.

The seminar was opened by Dogubayazit Mayor Mrs. Yildiz Acar said: “Our goal is to make all the efforts we can for the development of our district. In addition to the projects we carry out, we will try to realize the social works that we feel are lacking in our district with the European Union grant-supported projects that we will produce together with our non-governmental organizations. Project management training is organized for the first time in Dogubayazit. Our teachers, students, tradesmen and municipal employees were eagerly awaiting this seminar. I’m glad we made it happen. We, as a municipality, exist to serve our people.”

During the Certified Training Seminar, besides the theoretical explanation of project management, practical applications and examples of projects accepted by the EU were examined. On the last day of the seminar, a “project workshop” was held. After the seminar, a certificate ceremony was held for the participants.

Speaking at the certificate ceremony, EU Expert and BDU President Musa Karademir said: “I explained the “Project Cycle Management” method for European Union grant programs and other international grants and supports for three days. The interest of the participants was enormous. I was especially impressed by the enthusiasm of high school students and teachers to learn. In the project workshop we held on the last day, different project ideas emerged. In the future, as new chapters are opened, we will have the opportunity to write and implement these projects.

When I received an invitation from the Mayor of Dogubayazit, Mrs. Yildiz Acar, on project management training, I gladly accepted. I have given dozens of trainings in many cities and districts of Anatolia, local governments, universities, non-governmental organizations, chambers of industry and commerce. I was honored to share this knowledge and experience with the people of Dogubayazit. I would like to thank Mrs. Mayor Yildiz Acar again for his invitation.”
